Autumn Tears- They watch with closed eyes

I have just begun a new musical journey by discovering Autumn Tears' music... It's a fascinating combination of gothic,dark wave, neoclassical genres together with poetry, dark atmosphere, dark lyrics, beautiful soprano voice.
I've found an admirable video, which additonaly deepens the whole composition.



Timeless… ageless… ethereal beauty

Everything written in the previous Deine Lakaien posts counts here too, but in this particular song I'd prefer to stop listening in the midddle... The second part is a misunderstanding for me..as if Veljanov was trying something experimenal with his voice, escaping from the dark tone, but it didn't work..So, I stop listening at point 2:22...

The growling part isn't my favourite one, I must say ;-), but the overall song has something inside. So far it's the only Epica song that I listen to from time to time.

A German-Macedonian duet, whose singer, Alexander Veljanov, has an extraordinary low voice, that gives shivers through my spine. One of the 80's dark wave groups.

Nightwish- The Poet and the Pendulum

Tuomas Holopainen's masterpiece. Title reference to Edgar Allan Poe. Long, in many parts, dramatical, theatrical. Story about his life, that's how he described it. Lyrics can be read upside down, which shows a slightly different meaning, still logical though.

One of the songs that cannot be forgotten. An an unusual video (1993), very dramatic, sensual, movie-like. Strong, powefull, emotional music and vocals. A little masterpiece. Beauty and the Beast.
